I first worked with Runaway Productions in July 2005, scoring a thriller film called Look@Me, which stars Elina Madison. The film is now distributed through IFM World Releasing. As with most film projects, Look@ME came embbeded with some chanllenging deadline requirements. I becaume totally immersed, and saw it as an opportuinty to rise to an occasion. I lost track of the time and wasn't really sleeping; just writing. Within the first two weeks I wrote what would become 70 minutes of orchestal underscore. The composing is the fun part, and looking back, took the least amount of time. It was then necessary to shift gears and address the delivery requirements, hire musicians and deal with the technical issues related to the soundtrack production; which also included mixing and mastering. Despite these challenges, it turned out to be a very rewarding experience. I enjoyed working with the production comapny and feel honored having recently been asked to score another one of their films. which is now in production. The project is a comedy feature called The Wedding Video.
I have learned that Look@Me is now available for purchase through a number of online video/movie/DVD retailers, and sold under the alternate title MURDER DOT COM in England and Australia. Some stores selling the DVD include:

During the summer of 2005 Darren Wilsey composed and produced the film score and trailer music for the upcoming thriller film, Look@Medistributed by IFM International Releasing.
Wilsey set out to produce a score that would convey a vintage and eerie sonic atmosphere, noting that his approach to writing the music was influenced by the film's style of cinematography. "For me, certain scenes convey a 'classic thriller' film-type quality, and for the most part, it seemed appropriate to avoid using synthetic instrumentation for this [articular production. When we finally added in the sound design elements at mix time, the result turned out to be synergistic; a blend of musical arrangement and orchestration typically associated with thriller films predating 1985 fused with recent sound design applications, a lot of which were not available back then. My goal was to establish a mood somewhat akin to those rendered in classic like Friday the 13th, The Shining or Psycho. I really enjoyed working on this score. It turned out to be a lot of work, but this is labor of love."

In April 2005, Darren Wilsey composed and produced the music for a TV pilot for The WB called Poor Little Rich Girls.
The drama department at The University of California at Irvine is performing the play "Mad Forest," written by Caryl Churchill, March 10 - 19, 2005. The show will feature an original musical score composed by Darren Wilsey. The play depicts the historical events that transpired during the revolution in Romania in 1989. "Bring It On" (written by Darren Wilsey and performed by Sarah Lovely) was recently featured in a promotional commercial on the E! Network for the 2005 BAFTA Awards Show ("BAFTA is an acronym for the British Academy of Film and Television Arts).
The Sktrain song "Until Today" (written by Darren Wilsey and Phil Vassil) will be featured in the second episode of the new ESPN series TILT. This is slated to begin airing on Thursday January 20th 2005 at 9:00 PM.

Darren Wilsey produced the video trailer for the upcoming TV series DREAM GUITAR (Brand Entertainment and Media International). This show will depict the daily trials and tribulations of a real life father/son team who build guitars for the icons of rock (Steve Miller, Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, ZZ Top, etc.) The show is being described as a loose hybrid of Behind the Music (VH1) and Monster Garage (The Discovery Channel) with a couple of twists. In December the show was signed for representation by The United Talent Agency in Beverly Hills. In early January 2005 the executive producers of Dream Guitar met with a major production company, giving the project the "green light." Darren has been asked to step in as the show's composer.
During the week of December 6th 2004 Darren Wilsey produced music for two TV commercials that will air in the days ahead. The first is another commercial for the grocery store chain H.E.B (Here Everything's Better) that will air in Texas and Mexico. The second is for Saturday Night Live. This track is a parody of the 12 Days of Christmas and will be airing on the E! Network.
